London College of
Contemporary Arts

London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) sought to expand and elevate its student offering by redesigning a new floor to align with its existing spaces, while introducing a standout feature: the Gaming Lab.

Inspired by gaming aesthetics, the lab featured coloured LED lighting, coding-themed visuals, and dynamic ceiling-to-column illumination. The space reflects the client’s creative identity through custom wall graphics and consistent branding.

The layout was carefully crafted to enhance the student journey, mimicking the flow of other floors for comfort and familiarity. Wellness was incorporated through biophilic design and natural light, contributing to a calm, focused learning environment. One key challenge was balancing classroom capacity with spatial comfort. This was addressed through light finishes, clever zoning, and strategic visual contrasts, such as a darker breakout space that made adjacent classrooms feel brighter and more spacious.

To support flexibility and growth, mobile breakout furniture and mirrored glazing details allow for future expansions. Despite a tight timeline, the project was completed on schedule. The client praised the team’s communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail, noting the final result exceeded expectations.
